First of all a big thanks to Krishnaji 🙏 Usually, the mind is chattering without any reason.  •One thought might start slowly, and it just expands like a flowing river. •If we notice, thought is always of the past, it projects the past into the future. Thought is necessary for factual and technical entities, but not for psychological entities. •We might start to work but we are easily distracted by a notification on mobile or an email and get drowned in it. •Awareness of the mind and thoughts implies, attend to each and every movement in and around us and slowly the thoughts and being aware of the distraction that is taking place, without condemning or accepting it. •Awareness is quite different from concentration and introspection, as, in concentration and introspection, we intend to focus on a static thing or a thing of the past, but awareness implies choicelessly becoming aware of the movement around us and our thoughts and hence our mind.

 First of all, one wonders why Jiddu Krishnamurti is not much known or made to know in this country, as much as he should be, but let us leave that to destiny. But for some reason, one had an urge to write some pointers from his teachings. Essentially Krishnaji himself has mentioned clearly in his talks that he doesn't want anyone to be attached to his teachings, interpret or conceptualize it in fragments and also mentioned he has no specific form of teaching except as acting as a mirror to see oneself clearly, but when one is able to see Oneself clearly, one can through away the mirror (his talks, dialogues). Also, he has mentioned clearly, listening to his talks for many years doesn't make one divine or something. One feels there are four types of people in the way they approach life and we will see some pointers. 1) His talks, dialogues, and writings may not be optimal for people who are already leading a life of contentment, absolutely devoted to God with full faith in God ...

  This Q&A happened in August,1985. To this particular question, when K points out that "We are going to become slaves to computers. And computers are going to replace us in everything, except sex and may be to look at the stars", leaves me completely astonished, he is still ahead of time even in 2021. The focal point was in investigating about what is behind all origins of life in the universe as a part of answer to this question!

 The key difference between the ancient civilization and the current civilization is that, 'the actual thing' was more important in the ancient one, but currently the word about the thing has become more important than 'the actual thing'. 

 "Truth is narrowed down and made a plaything for those who are weak and those who are only momentarily discontented. Truth cannot be brought down, rather the individual should make effort to ascend to it. You cannot bring the mountain top to the valley, if you would attain to the mountain top you must pass through the valley, climb the steep, unafraid of the dangerous precipices"  ~ J Krishnamurti 91 years on nothing has changed, nothing seems to change. Maybe these are one of the best-ever lines. The most important thing to mention here, he strongly condemned that no one should become a  follower of him and also not consider him as a Guru, he stated that once one becomes a follower of anything, one confirms a pattern and starts having likes and dislikes towards others.  Recently we posted some snaps from Krishna Ji's notebook published in the 1970s but which he just wrote has traveling diaries in 1961 and 1962. Of that, there was one more thing which struck me, not in the exact lines as here but the essence of what Krishna Ji mentioned. The brain is always putty, it always remains so, for it is 'The Me' is always important, and it always seeks for all types of security as through the evolution of mankind. The human brain may advance technologically very much, it can find ways to land on the moon, or find something 10000 feet beneath the Earth. Adding to this, it may find a living spot in Saturn's satellite Titan or it may construct an apartment in the mid sky after space in Earth is filled or it may construct offices and homes in the mid-sea or 10000 feet beneath the Earth. But it can never go and look within oneself for which needs life and tremendous vitality. Thank You!

 

 Without responsibility, there is no freedom ~ J Krishnamurti Many people think, freedom means one can do anything, that is certainly not freedom, but escape.    K on freedom and responsibility  In reality, freedom and responsibility go hand in hand, as only when we are responsible we give ourselves to something totally without any expectation, which is the same as in freedom.

 Completed reading the three-book series of Commentaries on Living, which was targeted to be completed in December 2020, but it was allowed to be completed recently after a bit of focus on this series after June, throughout this time frame we went through a lot of dialogues and talks from Krishna Ji in the YouTube channel.   This 3 book series of commentaries on living was written in the 1950s, based on Krishna Ji's dialogues with people from various walks of life, the politician, the spiritual seeker(which are the most part), the actor, and many other streams.  Here we try to provide a glimpse of what it covers.  When one is not able to understand oneself, there is no point in trying to understand others.  All our problems stem from our reactions to actions, we never quite look into the action deeply, since our responses are conditioned and it is so rapid.  For instance, when we are watching an IPL match when we are inclined to support CSK, we never q...

We are always afraid to let alone, at the same time all our acts lead to isolation, we want more possession than others in many ways, more marks than others when we grow up as kids, more salary than others as adults, more luxuries than others, more peace and better way to leave the world and a better after life than others in old age and so on. ~Points inferred from K

 Yesterday happened to see a public talk from K which happened in Ojai, California 1984 giving the link here, the talk on this subject starts after 40 minutes into the talk. K's discussion on this starts after 40 minutes Wherein K says the computers are taking and our daily jobs (the 1980s) would be replaced by computers and robots. Not sure if everyone who was listening were taking it seriously. But certainly, it is revealing. Also, he provides insights that since most of these daily tasks, for example, calculator taking over in a shop for billing, the human brain becomes less and less active, and hence would be seeking different forms of entertainment, which has very become true day as people running on Friday evenings and weekends to get a breather from the routine in different forms.  And interestingly when we die to each moment and are reborn again in our psychological lives, which is the means of liberation.  Since we have been quoting J Krishnamurti frequently, just thought we will have a quick recap and summary of his theme. A few points could be a repetition from one of the previous blogs. If one is listening to K and interested in his talks can go into this article further. First of all, he never wanted him to be seen as a Guru and not to preach any methodology or ideology. He mentioned himself that he acts as a mirror in his talks and dialogues, for the people listening to it to look at themselves clearly. Most of his videos uploaded by the Krishnamurti Foundation serve this purpose, we must be grateful to them. Right from starting his talks in the 1920s till his last talk in 1986, he maintained that 'Truth is a pathless land'. His central theme in his talks and dialogues, as the writer sees it is the negation of 'I', the image that we have built about ourselves, our agenda, our ambitions, all the petty little things we have built about ourselves etc. He goes into the ...

  K's insights on this matter If one is seriously interested to go into this taboo subjects and understand it's movement, K points it out very clearly in this dialogue of 1 hour. For some reason, in most of the commercials, most of them the movies, most of the digital/print media ads, love is shown originating from a shadow of sex and pleasure, clouding the real love. As we get rid of this superficial image brought about the external environment, only then one can see true love between a man and woman, man and man, woman and woman and between human and nature. K goes into the root of understanding this movement. It is not that the writer is away from all this, think only a truly enlightened person can be away from all this, but as a normal being just want to see the movement of this. And thought, this might be of value for many.
