Things this guy realized - Part 13

  • Seek from within
  • One who tries to become a master of the master becomes a slave forever
  • The mind is conditioned to see the past and future as a craving, forgetting the present's blessings
  • The icing on the cake requires a strongly baked base, but people want to have the icing without a base
  • The nation's sustained emergence and growth is complete only when it has invested in technology & innovation and being able to provide quality education and healthcare to all citizens
  • When there is no interest there are no chances for conflict of interest
  • Time is the best instrument to judge your deeds
  • Peace is found when the mind, the body and actions are in harmony
  • We wake up to our hopes, not despair
  • People don't change but their perceptions do
  • Expectation kills reality
  • An effective routine makes it a productive day
  • What we perceive as our image is just like our shadow which varies at different parts of the day, sometimes it is bigger than the original version sometimes smaller and in the dark, it doesn't ever exist. What actually remains is the original self
  • Seeking with this mind is as transient as it could get, the only way to truly observe is to dissolve the ego
  • In business, profit is the only nationality
  • The media houses should publish a similar disclaimer as in-vehicle mirrors, the objects are closer than they appear, for their hypocrisy and the exaggeration they do
  • When you are limitless, then why should be bound by limits
  • Mind is like a RAM, when too many thoughts process parallelly it hangs
  • If you are unaffected by pleasure, you will be unaffected by pain ! If you are unaffected by appreciation, you will be unaffected by criticism ! If you are unaffected by good, you will be unaffected by evil ! If you are unaffected by your opinions, you will be unaffected by others' opinions!
  • The root holds the tree if it shall try to come to limelight, whom shall hold the tree!?
  • To see something new, you must be prepared to forget the images you have already seen.
  • Mind is like camphor, it still exists when it is cut or broken into pieces, but it disappears and dissolves when lighted
  • You can do only one thing in a moment
  • If you are doing the right thing, you don't have to justify it by explaining it

My memories with MS Dhoni

My memories with MS Dhoni : In December 2004, during a half yearly holidays in my high school he came in as a fashionable young wicket keeper, had seen many specialist keepers come and go in that period such as Parthiv Patel, DK, Ajay Ratra, Deep Dasgupta, so was not having any awe in him and getting a run out in hurried manner wasn't an impressive first showing. Was ignorant of the facts behind then, that he came from 3 centuries with India A in Kenya. Slowly as the days progressed, one rainy noon on the summer of April 2005, came back from an Annual exam to see India scoring more than 300 runs in the ODI against Pakistan in Vizag, from the scorecard saw that there was a change in batting order with MS Dhoni at 3 scoring 148 runs at a quick pace, but even then didn't have an awe in him. Days progressed through 2005, near a Deepavali day I was having a holiday, there was an ongoing ODI series against Sri Lanka, the series was already decided with India had won it comfortably al

Transformation of data and analytics with information technology

The world we are in is driven by data. In other words, Data has been the backbone behind this transformation with technology. In the early days, trade was driven purely by commodity exchange for which the data was captured in numerics. Later, after the invention of coins and subsequently printed money the idea of market expanded with the printed money being able to be a common currency. For this study, let us take the emergence of the United States' economy. From the advent of market economy starting 19th century, consequently there was a need for a banking system and public investment through stock markets and US had higher flow of goods and services, enabling a larger consumer base which meant the data was saved in paper and pen. This resulted in a need to store this data better, which the technology enablers started doing throughout the 20th century. So for this it needed to be stored in servers for there was a visual input and output needed. This enabled the pursu

India's Economy - Thinking through the Journey and the Road Ahead

What comes into our mind when we first hear the word 'India'? Diversity? More than 1000 year old monuments? A land of wisdom? Crowded places? The skyscrapers, fast highways may come as the last pictures in one's memory. India has always been a great place for pilgrimages wherein people come in the quest to understand the true meaning of the life that has been given to them. People of India come from the ethnicity of saving and trying to live a life with contentment. But this contentment has been slowly fading in the age of consumerism. Let us see the journey of India economy and its chances of blooming in the future. The Journey: Years 1947 to 1990 :  After Independence, India had adapted the socialist and protectionist principles mainly assuming that adapting capitalism would be letting something similar to East Indian Company through the back door after attaining independence. So the state was keen to keep all the powers and licenses of businesses under its co
